Tappets

Hi there, basically i have a 52 ZR 1.4 petrol and have owned it for about 5 weeks now. When i bought it the guy told me about tappets and I understand its not a major issue but would like to try get it sorted, i tried Wynns hydraulic valve lifter from halfords as some said it worked and others didn't but unfortunately hasn't seemed to solve it. Guy at work was saying he had the problem while back and used a thinner oil and that seemed to help.. Didn't have much more info so was wondering if anyone can confirm this and if so recommend a certain type to get? Thanks!
