Water getting in to boot

Hi guys has anyone found out where the water comes in to the boot on the rover and mg range, when i had my r414i I could not find the leak and now I have the same problem on my 54 mg zs td no sunroof and I can not find the leak, I am half tempted to rip all the carpets out and sit onsite and get somebody to pour dyed water over the car or put a hose pipe on it, any suggestions are welcome as my sub box is socking the water up and I have a baby on the way and don't want to get the pram damp etc
