What genius... a thread for stupid design decisions

As the title says. A thread for those design decisions that have us scratching our heads.



For example:



What genius decided it was a good idea to make the bottom end of the dip stick out of black plastic so you can't tell the colour of the oil and making darned near impossible to check the level without getting it out in the sun and hoping you can see those little bumps.
