...and another thing...
Whilst I'm on the subject of issues, I'll mention the poor gear shift quality on the TF's manual box.
I've replaced the metal internal gear lever mechanism with a brand new unit from the Chinese built TF's. The gear lever cables were also brand new. The gear box oil has been changed.
Why then, is the quality of the shift so notchy? Third and gift are particularly nasty, yes the gears freely engage but it feels like metal mashing on metal. Second is also a bit stiff. Again, not much fun to be had by changing gear.
Is there any adjustment on the ends of the gear lever cables? I'd mention at this stage that I had a new clutch fitted by my local X-Part Service Centre - could this be the cause?
As you can probably guess, having a car with a bone hard ride and notchy gear box, doesn't make me feel inclined to drive it much....
Cheers,
James
