brakes

hi all the other day i drove about 9 mile and noticed a funny smell and then notice smoke coming from my front driver side brake caliper so i knew it was sticking by it doing what it did so i moved the slider wiggled it and drove carefully home notice the caliper was cooler when i got home i taken the calipers off and the sliders needed copper grease on them and alls been well but iv put m foot down today lol n popped to shops thought il give it another check and it seems to me a little warmer then the passenger side? im a little on confused now as is there the same problem or is it just me? also my pistons in the calipers seem free ie not to hard to put back i did do alittle heavy braking? is it just that also i was planning having all new brake disc and pads all round and fitted by garage near me as the mot is coming up in a few months thanks mines a 618
