Cold start problem
The missus has had the '55 reg ZR 105 for nearly two years now , and no problems at all apart from some early bother with the alarm . Over the last 3 weeks however , on 3 occasions it has proved difficult to start when stone cold (early morning and late night ). I get it started by holding the accelerator pedal 1/2 open whilst cranking and it eventually chugs into life , then steadies and is ok ; it will then restart immediately .Most of the time it starts fine , so the problem appears intermittent .
I have today sprayed the ignition electricals with WD40 , and reduced the plug gaps to 0.9mm as they were very wide .See how we go !
One thing I noticed when trying to start it last time; when I stopped cranking I could hear what sounded like a relay chattering away like mad , either under the driver's side dash or on the bulkhead . Any ideas , folks?
