engine light

hello!

just got myself an mg zr and the engine light came on. i had that looked at and the guy said it was the air conditioning, this is odd because i dont have air conditioning but he reset it for me and said that the light may or may not come back on. it has been fine but came back on again today. he advised me that if this was to happen to put some catacleaner in my car wait a week and see if that has sorted it. i have put it in and was wanting to know if it has sorted it will the light just switch of or will i still need the light reseting ? thanks in advance :)
