MG ZS clutch master cyl bleeding

I changed the master cylinder on my clutch, only because the internal circlip that restricts the outward movement of the piston had failed. There was nothing wrong with either the clutch or gear engagement prior to this.

Now I am sure there is air in the system because I can't easily engage forward gears and reverse is impossible, but all are better if the pedal is pumped. The biting point is low.

I only replaced the master cylinder, not the slave which is fine and not leaking.

I can follow the advice here for bleeding http://ift.tt/1DGFRQD

but this requires the removal of the master cylinder. If I disconnect and remove the master cylinder and bleed it, who's to say that when I replace it, I won't get air trapped again?

Has anyone any similar experience?

Thanks for any help

Andrew
