Garage refused to fit gutted cat?

I was getting my zr ready for its MOT today.



Dug the cat out of the shed as my dark ice decat is no longer passable, smashed it up with a breaker bar (good fun) and took it down to the garage along with a janspeed backbox I've had sat around for ages.



The guy refused to fit the gutted cat, saying there are new rules and that they could loose their MOT test license if they did so...



I asked them to loosen the bolts on the on the decat atleast which they did, so It wasnt too bad doing it on axal stands at home, but is that actually a thing? I cant say I've heard that one before...



On another subject, My whole car used to judder violently when pulling away, always blamed it on the clutch, been like it for the last 3 years. Now after getting the back box changed and the cat put back on, its perfect??? any ideas on that? Really strange...
