Leak is back ahhhhhhhhh!

Last week I noticed that my windscreen had started to mist up a bit when the car has been sat on the drive, so Sunday I gave the passenger carpet a poke and got that unplesent squelch noise :(



Pulled the carpet up and there is a vast amount of water in the foot well so it had obviously been leaking for a while (unsure if it’s a new leak or if I never fixed the old one).



Just to recap I have done the following:



Resealed windscreen

Put sealant around the fan intake

New foam strips around the scuttle

Sealant around the drainage in the inner wing and joins in the wheel arch (this seemed to have stopped the leak or so I thought)



The water is coming from the top left hand side of the dashboard. I left some newspaper wedged up between the wing and rear dashboard (about as far as you can get an arm up there) and this was soaking wet so water seems to be coming in quite high up.



Tonight’s plan is to wet vax the car to get it dry as possible to avoid all that nasty business. I would also love to remove the rubber mat that sits against the bulk head (by the passengers feet) anyone know how you remove this?



Then I shall wait for the rain and try out a borascope (not sure how you spell this) that I have borrowed from my old man, this should at least help me find the water coming in without the need of me bending myself up in the foot well lol.



The car is a Mk1 ZS 180 hatch with no sunroof.
