Rear 3 way brake Union MG TF

I have broken the stud removing the nut holding the union to the body. Despite. Weeks of soaking with Gas Plus it didn't survive. There is no obvious way to fasten the union to the body. Can anyone suggest a fix? The petrol tank can't be far away which is why I didn't use heat on this stud but I can't see how I can create a secure connection to the body work without a weld of some sort?



I have thought about making a tab to use what remains of the stud (if I clean it up) and bolting the union to it but not sure if this would be sufficient for MOT
