Rover 25 auto probs

hi all,got my mum a rover 25 1.6 16V auto because she needed an auto due to bad back,its 46k with service,had a gearbox by previous owner (cvt gearbox),can anyone help?,when putting car into gear from cold it will stall,have to warm it up 5mins or so before its ok,has occasionally stalled even when warm tho,not sure how to cure the problem?,dont know if its got too much oil in,or wrong oil etc?,has anyone had the same problem and found a solution?,thanks a lot.



ps forgot to mention it seems to be trying to pull off like mad in drive with foot on brake,hence why i thought it might be overfilled with oil?
