Rover 420 GSi Tourer

M Reg 1995 , Just had new MOT , 89K , runs drives brilliant , all electrics work apart from the rear demist . I've just put this 420 back on the road after 26 months of being laid up , all it needed was two drop links , two rear calipers and two wiper blades !! It has a tow bar but has only towed a bike trailer , previous owner had lots of bikes ........ :-o !!!



I have some old bill's and receipts , MOT's , Tax disc's etc but no extensive service history .



There are one or two areas of rust beginning to show but no horror stories etc .......



The main problem is it has lacquer peel on the roof and on the front wings , not to bad as its white and from 5 yards away looks good !



The good points are ...........



Head gasket replaced last year (to cure the common T series oil leak )

New timing belt kit

New auxiliary belt

Good tyres (all matching)

Recon starter

New radiator (pattern)

Stainless steel exhaust (cat back) sounds nice , lovely burble ;-)

CD player

Heater control dials replaced with gen Rover items from Rimmers

Recent service (new anti-freeze last week)



Bad points ............



Radiator fan dont kick in as there was no hole for the sender in new rad

Lacquer peel

few rust spots

only one key and remote fob



There we go , a well looked after Tourer , in the best selling colour never raced or rallied etc etc .....
