terrible TF market value

Hi guys. I recently inherited a TF 135 convertible from my grandfather who died. It's a nice little 2004 motor that has been well maintained with low mileage. He looks to have added the hardtop, automatic lights, parking sensors, an expensive alpine system, a spare tyre, and the uprated headgasket amongst other items. Now I have the dilemma of making the decision whether to sell it or keep it. I had decided to sell it because the car is frankly impractical. I have a child and a 2 seater isn't sensible at this stage in my life.

However, when I did some research the MG TF prices were shockingly low. Some of them were selling for sub 1000 pounds, and even the better examples were not going for much over 1000 privately. To put this into perspective last year I sold a 2004 plate Audi A3 with accident damage and 123k miles on the clock for 1500. It looks like a 2004 TF with 55k miles in good condition and full service history won't even reach that. So I have to keep a car I don't need or sell it for peanuts. Bearing in mind that this car has a degree of sentimental value attached to it, it just doesn't look like it is worth selling. Why are the prices so low on this car? If anything the prices should be going up. Honestly the car is a hoot to drive and is pretty. Even the MPG is very good. No manufacturer makes an affordable mid-engine RWD car anymore.
