A word to the wise.

Greetings.

I had to replace the battery on my "other" car yesterday as it let me down, so went to Halfords, as that's where I bought the last one for "Trigger"

I decided to pay the extra tenner and have the guy fit it there and then and also dispose of the old one.

However, instead of the correct size tapered posts on the battery, it had smaller tapered posts with a split tapered collar in order to accomodate both sizes of terminal clamp.

The problem was that when the terminal clamp was as tight as it would go, a slight "twist" and off it came !

All the batteries that this particular branch of Halfords stocked had these split collars on them so I politely refused to purchase said battery (Yuasa by the way) and went to Euro Car Parts where I got a Bosch one for £20 less (with a 4 year warranty) with the correct sized terminal posts.

Maybe something for you guys to be aware of.
