is it worth it?? (105BHP mg zr td)
hi all. im debating on getting rid of my zr. i have just ordered a used working maf but there is still a bit of stuff wrong.
the problems are:
-brake binding or the front driver side, i can deal with this though
-boost leak
-leaking seals (causing steaming on the inside)
-knackered sunroof seals meaning i can sometimes get a little shower on my way into work
-that awful box whine which seams to be a fairly common problem
-the central locking on the front passenger side cant be connected as i blows the fuses everytime
-i think the valves may need adjusting as the engine is rather rattly
-the steering wheel adjustment isnt tight enough so the wheel just slides back down to the lowest adjustment
-possible oil leak, requires further investigation
-the radio picks up a lot of static, someone has replaced the original stereo.
i paid £400 for it, since then i have fixed the gear linkage with a steering column UJ which cost me £5 and i have replaced both front alloys for ones with fresh tires for £40. also the new maf cost me £15 (bosch) (used)
so all in all the car owes me £460. time isnt a factor to take into account here as i have a lot of spare time at the moment so i can work on it anytime. im wondering if it is financially efficient to repair it. if i do repair it then i shall be tuning it do around 200bhp.
