So its like an MGB?
Merry Xmas all from Tennessee..
Currently over here for 2.5 weeks seeing Harriet..
So far I've seen two UK cars.. A Range Rover.. And a mini (new one)
So last night we go for burgers n beers with another couple and Bruce is into building cars at home.. So over a glass or two of Whiskey we start talking about projects.. He currently has 2 1966 mustangs he's restoring. One a coupe.. One a soft top..
He asks what I'm building and I say an 'MGF'.. He's like 'oh that's an MGB?'
So I show him pictures etc.. Explain the engine is in the middle etc..
He then shows me his rebuilt motor (engine).. It's a 5 litre V8 on twin carbs.. Hot cam etc.. How much is it making? 230-240 bhp...
He asks what size V8 is in mine? I explain its a 1.9 litre 4 cylinder.. He says 'cute'
The 66 mustang is a lovely looking car... But has cart springs and looks like a small barge..
Every other vehicle on the road here is a pick up.. The only MG they know is the MGA or the MGB..
It's not true though that every car here has a 5 litre V8.. Seen loads of Toyota/Merc/BMW/Honda with 2 litre engines..
Lots of the cars are the same as back home...
Just no MGF's
