Zr coolant light on, Mot failure?

Hi guys, just a quick question as I've googled this and came across conflicting answers.

I have a permanent coolant light illuminated on the dash due to a (non floating float...) I have freed it up several times but as soon as car starts up it once again sinks to the depths. Will this result in an mot failure?



I plan on changing the coolant tank just would rather not in the height of Winter.
