coolant in no. 1 cylinder
Rover Streetwise 1.4 2004 petrol manual
This car has not run since Mid November 2014, when the owner, my daughter in law, gave birth. At Christmas she mentioned that her car, Rover Streetwise 1.4 above, would not start. I tried to jump start it, no joy. It would not even turn over. I tried a tow start, it still would not turn over. I removed the plugs, and found coolant in no. 1 (timing belt end). I also found the starter was dead, so I have changed the starter. Now when I crank the engine with the plugs out it spurts coolant out of no. 1 cylinder. I fear the fault is failed head gasket, but might it be leaking inlet manifold gasket? Please advise.
