Coolant Level Sensor mystery
Hi,
I just did the flush out (with water) timing belt, water pump, and brand new OAT coolant on my 2005 45 1.4 K.
This was preventative maintance - not after a boilover or anything like that.
The coolant level sensor was working before I started the job.
Now, it fails to recognize the coolant. When I disconnect the sensor, the tell tale comes on and extinguishes as normal - connected it stays on.
I filled the engine with the bleed bolt out, and then put the bolt in once coolant hit that level and kept filling. I presume that there is not air in the expansion bottle chamber where the sensor goes. The bottle is at the max mark. I have driven the car - its fine otherwise.
I don't understand where I went wrong or how i caused this. Grateful for any help - has this happened to you?
