Still no further on despite replacing almost everything - cat, O2 sensor, temp sensor, spark plugs - it's still showing high CO & lambda, but HCs are OK. This is supposed to suggest that it's running a rich mixture, but I thought the O2 sensor feedback was meant to control that.
Anyway, its behaviour is different from what I remember in the past, particularly at start-up and during warm-up. I've recorded a cold start and made a short video - have a listen here - where it's clearly misfiring. Also it has quite a bit of snap crackle and pop - MEMS 1.9, where people pay good money to make their later system do that. At about 1800 rpm it's as if one cylinder is not firing - it shakes the car. Once warmed up it runs perfectly well, and the misfiring disappears anyway with a good application of the right foot.
Any chance this is injector trouble? I'm hoping to delve deeper this week.
