Exhaust flexi-pipe repair
I'm pretty sure (though yet to confirm) that the flexible section of my exhaust is leaking. When the engine's cold (and running richer) there's a whiff of fuel in the car, hence the suspicion that the flexipipe might be the culprit. I also get 'popping' on the over-run from the exhaust which suggests an air leak in the exhaust rather than something else. The gaskets in that section of exhaust are all new and the problem's been around longer, it's just getting worse and getting on my nerves :)
Does anyone have any thoughts / feedback / experience on this sort of thing:

If the flexipipe is the problem I don't really want to replace the whole section as that means replacing a perfectly serviceable cat which is un-necessary and expensive.
Obviously I will confirm this is the source of leak before spending any money, I was just interested to hear if others have used this sort of repair in the past.
TIA
