Inlet manifold boost valves ??

So my mg zr 1.4 has started tapping ive been looking every were for a video because my iphone does not do video and i found this

Mine is the same everyone says its sounding ruff and i should buy a new car. I have got a mechanic that comes to your door to look at it and have said its the Inlet manifold boost valves. I rang another garage up and have been told the zr does not have them? The one who said its the Inlet manifold boost valves have said it will not do no damage to the engine but the inlet needs replacing ??
