MG ZR trying to keep rust at bay

My ZR has started to rust in the usual places front wing lip, bottom of rear arches and around boot lock. I have tried lots to stop it getting worse but it still is. I clean shamous my car regular and always keep it well polished. Any tips to help it from getting too bad
