Mg zs 1.8 120 ride quality

Just wondering everyones thoughts on the ride quality of their MG ZS? I have just bought a 2003 MG ZS 1.8 120 with 90,000 miles. As far as I know everything on the car is stock. After a stressful 1st week of finding a few faults on the car, now its fixed I'm enjoying the miles. I find the handling very nice, steering very responsive and it corners like its on a scalextrics track however I find after a while that the ride is very hard. Every slight bump on the road you feel and my passengers comment how it isnt a very comfortable ride. As I plan to use the car every day I was wondering is it just something I need to get used to (being a new car to me) or is it worth maybe changing something to improve the ride, maybe a project for the summer?
