mgzr 160 bank 1 lambda mot fail

Hello all



Got my b reg mgzr160vvc in for mot yesterday they couldnt get it to pass the emissions test, I think they said it was for idle. The said to get a bank 1 lambda sensor. First of all they got one for £60 and I thought just get it, then that was the wrong one due to the harness no being the same so got another and it was £110!!!



my question is



Can I just buy a universal 4 wire lambda from ebay for £30 or what ever it is these days and splice that in using old harness or is there a justafiable reason as to why a 4 wire lamba sensor should cost £110 which seems pricey for what ultimately is a £30 lambda with a matching harness already installed?
