My 1st 'snobby' comment!

OK, so Ive had my MG ZS+ for 10 days now and despite a few teething problems to start with really enjoying it now. However, when talking to some random guy about what cars we drive I said,'Ive just bought a MG ZS+ 03 plate'. 'Thats not a real MG, it's just a Rover'! he said.

1st off Ive got nothing against Rovers, after all I support Raith Rovers Football Club lol. I had a Rover25 a few years ago and for 3 years never had a problem with it. So whats different between MG and a Rover? After looking on here seems to me the ZS and the Rover 45 are sister cars, so what makes the ZS a MG and the 45 a Rover?
