Central locking / Dead battery issue

Hi All,

Here is my predicament. I jumpstarted my TF this morning as it had a dead battery. I had previously left the doors unlocked as I knew the battery would probably die as it has been undercover the last month or so. I opened the boot to release the bonnet, then opened the driver's door and inserted the key, then closed the door. As soon as I connected up the jump leads from my other car, the central locking engaged, locking my keys in the car (doh!!). Not to panick, as I have spare set. so I opened the car manually with the spare set.

Here is my problem, the central locking I think is a retro-fit as I have 2 fobs, one for the alarm and one for the c/l. The procedure to open and lock is: LOCK - close c/l, then activate alarm. UNLOCK - De-activate alarm, unlock C/L.

For whatever reason, my C/L is not working and it has had a brand new battery today, so I am having to leave the alarm off as it goes off whenever I try to open the doors manually.

Can anyone suggest a way to reset the C/L as I'm sure I had this issue a year or 2 ago, but cannot remember how I sorted it. Would disconnecting the battery help. All advice appreciated

TIA

Lee (Lee TF)
