Frozen Boot Lock

Off to the airport at 2.30am the other day and 10 minutes I spent trying to get the key in the lock of the boot. The another 10 mins trying to coax the key to turn without snapping it!!



Got in eventually but I cant be alone here when the cold bites. Are there any solutions out there other than one of those heated keyrings or an automatic release?
