Loss of power
Hi people,
I am new to the forum and need some advice please....
I have an 04 MG ZR TD which has very limited power. It feels like the turbo kicks in at 2500rpm and starts to fade around 3200rpm. When pulling away, it takes a long time to get going. If doing 60mph in fifth gear and I apply full throttle, the speed will only increase if going down hill, it will not gain speed on a flat road. It only pulls if I just feather the throttle, if I apply full throttle, it seems a little slower? I can hear the turbo spooling when driving in 1st too.
I have searched the forum for possible causes, and carried out the following:
1. Replaced the MAF with new Bosch MAF. (Car revs fine to over 4000rpm)
2. New air and fuel filters.
3. #1 injector wire has no chaffing and has a good connection.
4. Checked all hoses, and found no air leaks in the system.
5. EGR valve has been removed, cleaned and refitted. The solenoid for the EGR buzzes when the throttle is pushed.
6. The screwdriver-to-ear method to check injectors seems fine (all clicking as they should when engine running)
I am now at a point where I do not know what to do!?!?
Any advise and help will be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Alan.
