Rover 25 Electric problem
Hello,
My car had a "Black out" about 1-2 weeks ago and didn't start. All was coming was a fast clicking noise. Like this: http://ift.tt/17dnfxZ
The solution to that problem was low voltage. Ok, i jump started my car. All good until this morning. It started perfectly my car. Went to the city about 25km away and waited with my engine running for someone (it took about 30 minutes and i kept the engine on cause it was cold and i wanted heat).
I turned the engine off for a few minutes, all lights off. And when i tried to start it wouldn't start. Someone helped me push-start the car. (second gear and *vrumvrum*) all seemed well, drove home no problems. I let the car in the parking lot for about 4 hours i think and it wouldn't start. My luck was that i live on a little hill and i let my car roll down and started it again (2nd gear...).
Now comes the problem. I went to the city, i thought the battery "recharged" itself as there was no warning light whatsoever on the dashboard. I didn't turn my engine off aswell when i arrived, let it running with little acceleration now and then. When i drove off. My handbrake light was on even though my handbrake was down, SRS and ABS lights were on as well. And then i noticed, when i would press the brake or turn the turn signal on, the revs and km/h gouge "needles" would jump to zero and come back on quickly afterwards. I drove like that home, hoping on the motorway to get those lights off. But they were on, until the dash went completely blank. No reaction whatsoever, revs, km/h , dashlights, all went off.
Now my question is. Besides the battery that is for sure dead. Is it also the alternator? Is it a wiring problem? Is the electric motor totaled?
Btw: The car won't start by itself.
Thank you, and sorry for the long post but i had to give so much detail so you know what happened.
Already spent a lot of money on the timing belt, HG, water pump, hydraulic tappets and and and.... i'm getting tired really.
