TF135 Head Gasket Replacement
Hi All,
I recently bought an MG TF 135 which "looses water" by the looks of the car underneath its leaked the water down the back side of the block (could possibly have come from the expansion tank).
The car is a high milage example (130k) and as my usual rule of thumb is to scrap a K16 engine at 120k if the gasket is gone as the heads have usually been skimmed far too many times.
I've yet to break this one down but i think its safe to assume the gasket is gone and its got hot a few times. I think when i remove the head its more than likely going to have liner indentations.
I have access to another head, but the bad bit is that head is also a 110k head with some indentations. I've read in the past that you can use a polimer gasket to compensate and get some more life out of the engine.
So what kit should i use when i change the gasket this time round? I would like to try and save this TF.
