Vvc noise and general
Hi all, now the proud owner of an mgf vvc. I have a fair amount of experience with the k engine, but the vvc is all new to me....
The vvc mechanism is noisy, (very), at tick over, but car still goes very well, (but signs of oil in coolant). I have taken the head off to do the h/c and cam belt, and have read up a little about the vvc mechs. The 'manual' says you mustn't remove the cams from the mechs, but I notice on some threads that other people have, and the noise is sometimes the bearing on the mech on the cam belt end. Are parts available, as I see that the manual notes that the mechs were only originally supplied complete with cam? How about the control unit? Any advice or experiences gratefully received!
