what temperature does your car run at?

I have a scan guage 2 fitted and watch the water temperature religiously.



on a long hard run i seem to peak at 87/88C.. never seemes to go above but I have noticed that if the outside temperature is less than 9C then the car sits at 79/80C (sometimes lower)



I have a feeling that this affects my MPG..



so what should it run at and whats wrong with mine?





Mine is a 2005 1.6 ZS+ with 99K on the clock
