216 Tuning?

I rally a 214 with a couple of bits and pieces done to the engine (emerald, better cams, ported head and a few other bits and pieces). A friend has a 216 engine going spare and I'm wondering if it's worth using it in the rally car. It'll put me into the next class (up to 1.6) which is full of small & very light 106's, corsas etc etc, with some of them putting out up to 200bhp.



I'm thinking that as all my parts should swap straight over to the 1.6 bottom end it could be a cheap way of going faster. I was wondering if anyone's got any experience of the tuning 1.6, it's only another 8bhp & 20Nm than the 1.4 as standard and I don't want to go through the hassle of an engine swap to find it's no quicker. The engine has to stay as N/A so no turbo.
