Bye Bye ZT
After 20 years of Longbridge cars and 6.5 year of ZT ownership, it's time to part with my ZT:crying:
I'm trading it in for a nearly new 1.8 petrol Honda Civic - not a car I especially like, but it's now about what's practical for me and being honest there's no cars around these days I like (when compared to the ZT). I'm not a fan of modern interiors with cluttered dashes and square edged buttons/plastics - I'll always prefer the simplicity and nicer surroundings of the ZT interior. The only reason I chose a Civic is I have 5 friends/colleagues who own and speak highly of their reliability and I will still only buy British manufactured cars.
Last year I swore I would never spend another penny on the ZT - if it goes wrong it was going. It's only faults are the fan resistor (for air con) has died for the lower speed setting, tiny boot leak and it probably needs a new clutch as gear change has very recently become virtually impossible once car is at normal operating temperature. I've no doubt it's the clutch (not gearbox) as when switched off (when it's virtually impossible to change gear) the gears are nice and slick.
The ex Rover dealer I'm part exchanging with didn't notice the clutch/gear issue when they test drove it (as car didn't reach normal operating temperature), but I (perhaps stupidly) told them as I don't like being dishonest and it will be some other poor sods problem unless rectified.
So if someone sees a very low mileage (only 45k), 06 plate, xpower grey CTDi… it will most likely be my ex.
I wish you guys all the best and want to thank everyone on here for their great help and input over the years.
