Help regarding a VVC.
Not been on here for ages. Since I sold my diesel on here infact. Fast forward a few months and the plan was to get a corsa vxr.......... Ended up with a 160.
It's developed a kind of roughness to the idle that I can only describe as how my diesel felt with sdi's in. The car had a code on it for misfire detected on cyl2 but this could have been from before i got the car. Cleared it and no codes have come back. It also puffs coolant out the rear now, quite a bit. To the point now I don't want to go take it off the drive for a spin round the block. It would also sometimes die out when coming to a stop and be rough starting after.
Things changed/tried from other cars:
- Fuel filter (Had similar problem with the cutting out coming to a stop, was the filter)
- TPS
- Packs / HT Leads
- New plugs.
- Ran with lambda unplugged
An interesting thing to note. If i do the TPS reset (5 presses/start car). At the point the revs are supposed to fluctuate and settle it will die out and not finish the cycle.
Am I right in thinking a compression test in the next step ? I kinda discounted the IMG as it isn't a plastic one on the other k-series BUT if it was the IMG would account for the burning coolant and in a severe state rough idle / not being able to complete the TPS reset ?
Got loads of paperwork with the car / old receipts etc. The HG was done in 08 done about 60k since then.
