Misfire

I have a Rover 620gsdi always serviced recently started intermitent misfire placed the car on Snap on tested showed no codes advised take it to a diesel specialist This firm came highly recommended they tested the car and stated the fuel system 100% OK So if its not electrical or fuel any one an idea. I have read something to do with brake light switch could the culprit
