Possible?: Camshaft seal replacement with timing belt on?
Hello,
I already searched a lot but couldn't find a clear answer to my problem:
I have a leaking camshaft seal after a HG repair.
Is it possible to change the camshaft seals on a 1,8 Mpi without taking the (3000km old) timing belt off? Or is it a lot more difficult this way?
Should I anyhow replace the belt once it is off the gears?
I thought about just taking the tension of, taking the gears of, replacing the seals and back together. leaving the crank-gear on and just removing the upper cam-cover.
Thanks a lot !
Chris
