Ran out of petrol

2003 135 TF. Ran out of petrol, put some more in, fired up and ran for a few seconds several times and then would not go. No go with bump start either. Yellow engine warning light is on. Fuel pump is not running but is this because of engine brain problem? Did reset ful cut off switch and disconnected and reconnected battery to no avail. Where do I go from here please?
