Rover 75 2.0 V6 Auto box gearing profile issue

My dad has been a long time 75 fan and has not long picked up a mint condition 51 plate auto 2.0 V6 connoisseur with 27k on the clock. He previously had a W reg 2.0V6 club for about 6 years and has noticed that the auto gearing is different between the two.

The Main difference being in the 51plate, he has to be doing about 45-50mph before the Auto box will shift up to 5th (around 2800rpm) where in the older W reg he could get it to shift to 5th at around 35mph (2100rpm). Any ideas why this is the case or is there something wrong with the auto box in his new car?

Also what's the lowest speed or RPM that other 2.0V6 Autos change up to 5th in? (whilst on a flat road)
