What is part called and how to fix?
I assume you mean the plastic clip that holds the seat covering to the frame??
They quite commonly break apart of the MG seats, and there are two possible courses of action to fix the cover to the frame again:
You can either drill through the remains of the plastic clip and fix it to the frame with a couple of self tapping screws (though sometimes the clip breaks away from these too)....
Or, you can go to a breakers and remove a good replacement from seat in a bubble Rover 200, 25 or Streetwise (not one with the ZR style seats) - take a sharp knife and cut through the stitching without cutting the plastic, and stitch it in place of the broken one on your MG seat covers.
I stipulate that the replacement should come from a Rover because the clips on the Rover seat coverings seem to be stronger and don't seem to break in the same way as the MG ones - the MG seat covers were manufactured by a different company from the one who manufactured the Rover covers, , and the plastic clips are of a slightly different design.
