6 CD Multichanger ~ what's this green thing?

Decided to have a look at the 6CD Multichanger briefly today. Not looked at it at all in the three months I've had the car. Too many other jobs on the car taking priority.

Anyway, I loaded the cassette but could not get any CDs to play. I will swap with a different Unit and see if I can get a known good one to play. The original is "live".. I hear it trying to load a CD ... then stopped on the first attempt. Something's not right but, that is not the reason for this post.

What on earth is that Green Thing above the unit?

Looks like some kind of pull cord... ... Tempted to pull it but thought I'd ask first

Any advices here on the "thingy" or non-running Multichanger appreciated.

Really getting to know and like this old ZT-T 1.8t ... That's a lot of Tees ...

Edit to add @ 18.12

Since found out it looks like a pull cord manual release of the fuel filler panel should the central locking fail locked.

Apparently ... in a parallel universe MGJohn drives .........A.......

B>>M>>W ....

Arrrrrggghhhhh......... ......

Let's block ads! (Why?)
