HI and.............
HI and.............
We have just bought an MG ZR 105 3 door in Le Mans green for my son whos not quite old enough to drive on the roads yet although hes been driving since 15 at a designated off road School at Sheffield since 15 in my car.Now he can use his own until 17.
The car has been one owner, who went blind until 6 months ago when the bloke i got it from bought it but used it little. The car has covered just 29,000 miles from new.I paid £600 but man its acky dirty and needs a good sorting but detailing is something ive done for yrs on my own cars and it'll come up well.
I drove it back yesterday 250 miles without incident.
Anyway ill probably have some questions as there is more than a few little bits to do to bring the car up to standard.I have done some homework on some things so have an idea where some issues are going,so over time each one will be addressed.
parts thats required
Middle heater knob broke, believed the cable kinked issue so need to investigate that.Pretty sure when turned up with long nose pliers its not reaching full heat so willl have to drag out the heater controls and have a look.
speaker grill missing,if anyone has a good one.
======================
Jobs to do
Swap rear spoiler, one ordered from Ebay £18 as the one on has been strangely painted in the roughest green painting youve ever seen.
Passenger side seat upper bolster has sunk.Might have to shape a car sponge in there to tighten it up
Theres a small but sharp ding in the passenger door but we have all the PDR tools so that should disappear easy enough.
Drivers seat wont tilt forward, guessing its a cable issue.
Temp guage sits at half way between quarter and half but never moves.I assume thats a thermostat issue? water level is right and stayed right. No records of ever having HG and doesnt seem to need one...YET
The sunroof is noisy and theres a little play up and down,so ill give that a service and see where it goes.
And finally through 50 mph to 60 theres some wobble on the front end, pretty sure sometimes theres judder under braking so aswell as wheel balancing there could well be some play in a track rod end or suspension part somewhere but no clue where as yet.
Excess handbrake travel which is likely rear shoe adjustment being drums.
And that hopefully is pretty much it.
Heres a couple of pictures that the seller used, ill post some better when i get chance if theres any interest.........
On second thoughts looks like photobucket is down, ill come back to it........
