Just got ANOTHER Rover 75 in Copperleaf. Not my favourite colour but hey, beggars cant be choosers!!
It was either me or the breakers and being it was fully optioned and the guy wanted very little for it because the car had a broken wishbone ball joint and the passenger side drive shaft had popped out.
Ended up putting a new wishbone in and the drive shaft just popped back in, did it on the guys driveway with a jack, eventually driving it home !!!Drove like a dream home but getting the ball joint in on the wheel end of the wishbone (the one with the pinch bolt ) was a pig to get in !!!
The bad is, the paint clear coat peeling all over,a couple of small dings on the wings ,only one key which wont remotely lock, has a traction control light on all the time and an airbag light.
Headliner needs work
The good - has a newly recond auto in it, engine is strong and pulls like a bull in spring time !!!Has had a new intake manifold fitted
Looks like it has had some things done to it over the years.
Hooked it up to TOAF and the BCU has the working key listed (the same code as on the inside of the key) that runs the car.
This tells me that the EWS must have the chip part registered in it or the car wouldnt start so cant quite figure out why the remote is not working if the BCU has the key on its active register.
I did find when I got the key that the battery in it was dead so not sure how long that was like that, also the drive door lock only works with the key.
Tried the re sync ,press lock button 4 times with the door unlocked - no luck
Trying to track the airbag light and traction control issues now.
Traction control is working on startup, cog is free ,cable is fine and all mechanically seems fine ? Might be when the passenger wheel was damaged (wishbone broke etc) might have damaged ABS sensor ???.Not sure if that would upset the traction control though.
Airbag light ,all the under seat connections LOOK fine and tight.
Did notice a fault in TOAF ,somthing about seat belt tensioner not being the right resistance?//!!!
Why do I do this to myself !!!!
