My '98 F has always been a model of good behaviour when it came to selecting reverse until last Sunday when it decided not to engage at all. I have tried all the usual tricks of engaging 1st, double declutching etc but to no avail. When I shift the stick to the reverse position it feels OK but then when I release the clutch, which was replaced some time ago and has only done a handful of miles, the cogs grind alarmingly. I have tried adjusting the cable lengths at the bell crank end but that has made no difference either. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards, Nick
