Good Sunday afternoon all

I've noticed my ASB light flashing orange during start-up. The light goes out once i've exceeded 8mph or so - this is consistent with the Bosch ABS 5.3 start-up diagnostics.

I've taken the car to my usual garage but their generic ECU scanner only gives me: 20 ABS warning light on. I'm pretty sure the '20' just refers to pin 20 on the ABS module which relates to the instrument pack malfunction light. The garage didn't see any cracked reluctor rings.

I took the car out today and tested the ABS. I do not get pulsing of the brake pedal under normal braking - so this indicates that the reluctor rings are OK. Under heavy braking the ABS does kick-in so the system hasn't been totally disabled.

I counted the flashing ABS light and it give me: 1 flash, 2 flashes = code 12 and then 5 flashes, 6 flashes = code 56. This cycle continued indefinately. So the question is... does anyone know what codes 12 and 56 are on the Bosch ABS 5.3 system?
