Electric Seat Saga

Hi,

I know there have been a few posts re this one but any additional help would be appreciated.



Found a full leather interior for my MG ZT. The seats are electric and heated but no memory.



Rears came out no problem but the fronts are causing me a headache. I can access the bolts at the front of both seats and they are out however the rail is too far back to get access to the rears.



The car is in a scrap yard and all manner of bits and bobs removed so no power. Have read stuff relating to getting powers to the seats in order to move them. As such I have cut the big loom that was wrapped in black canvass tape close to the floor have exposed the thick orange power wires and the black 'earth' wire.



I was able to get a booster pack and tried all different combinations of wires to power and 'earth' to negative and to seat frame but alas no movement of the seats.



I have left it for today as was losing the will to live. For those in the know am I doing something wrong and if all else fails re power can you physically remove them without the power?
