Intermittant Start/immobiliser issue Rover 45 tdi (late shape)
Hi,
My Wife's Rover 45 2004 TDi has an intermittant starting problem:-
We have 2 fobs and a key
We are able to unlock and lock the car with the fob and the key fits the ignition fine but not the door lock.
The alarm immobiliser light goes off after unlocking with the fob
After inserting the key we turn it to position 2 until the glow plug coil light goes off then attempt to start. A click is heard and the starter doesn't attempt to start the engine.
After trying this several times, we have locked it again and the alarm indicator light flashes rapidly for a while until flashing normally to indicate the alarm is armed.
We can repeat this procedure to no avail but on occasion it does start.
If we then leave the car for 10-15mins and return, the likelyhood is that it will start!
Please can anyone shed any light on this issue?
