Suggest a new car for me!

I am on the lookout for a new car, something with plenty of hoon and some levels of practicality such as the ability to transport more than two people and a boot large enough that actual things can be fitted in it.



Budget is 4k though I could probably go higher if I bought on finance, but I don't want to if I can help it.



At the moment I keep getting distracted by supercharged Jaguar saloons, but I'm not sure if the running costs will bankrupt me or not. So any other ideas of cars I could have a look at?
